  • Early morning canoe safari with packed breakfast.
  • Arrive at Churna Forest Rest House and have lunch.
  • Afternoon walk/drive in the vicinity.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the Rest House.

Early next morning, we head out and explore the forest on a boat safari on the backwaters of the Denwa River that borders the Satpura National Park on the southern side. This experience will allow us to see the forest with a new perspective while giving us the opportunity to look out for some water creatures like crocodiles, fish and water birds. Early winter migrating birds also would have arrived by then.

Post our morning escapade, gear up for a safari and a ride to Churna Forest House. Our safari will take you through different areas of the park, rarely explored by the regular travellers. We might get to see the variety of habitats that we will drive through. For example- different types of deer, gaur, sloth bear, leopard, tiger and a variety of birds and other smaller creatures.

Once we reach Churna Forest House, settle down for lunch and a short rest. The Churna Forest Rest House is an old British style cottage. It is a simple, charming building surrounded by the forest. The Churna area is especially good to look for the Giant Squirrels. Spend a restful evening followed by dinner at the rest house.

About your host :

I have been trekking the Western Ghat ranges since 1999, and my passion for the Western Ghats and discovering the richness of its biodiversity and guiding treks has given me a nickname ‘malabaricus’ – "belonging to the Western Ghats". My experience in theater and love for story telling made me pursue guiding as a fulfilling journey in the wilderness.

With extensive experience as a naturalist along with exposure to managing various lodges in National Parks across the country, I will strive to bring to the best safari and staying experience.

I look forward to take you on a journey across Satpura - an experience that will be truly adventurous and enriching.

Host reviews :

  • - "Many thanks for making my journey to India so special - with Malabaricus it wasnt just an ordinary sightseeing tour.. It let me have a close look to the Indian culture, feel the majesty of the pristine nature and learn about the common life of the people - there is nothing I can complain about.. Malabaricus is a responsible organizer, experienced guide with a vast knowledge about wildlife and nature and an interesting story teller.. it was the best trip I have ever been to."
  • - "As a frequent wildlife and India traveller/photographer, my trip with Vineith Malabaricus was nothing short of wonderful. Quick to respond to my (many) questions and requests, he provided a fantastic experience tailored for my particular interests. Not only was the organization and responsiveness exceptional, but Vineith himself is an outstanding naturalist and wildlife ambassador, who goes the extra mile to show you his wild places. One of the most knowledgeable wildlife people I've met. Thank you for a wonderful safari adventure!"
